                                    For me, it%u2019s the picture of the bridge in the sky that looks like a Viking ship from below. Somehow, it is flying, floating, above me. The bridge ends like a bowsprit disappearing into the clouds. It%u2019s one of the many magical images in Geir Jordahl%u2019s long-awaited book, The Endless Sphere of Time. For forty years, the photographer has traversed the globe, from his homeland of Norway to the Far East, to the American West, and beyond. It seems that he might need that Viking ship to travel the vast distances covered in this project. He is endlessly searching, exploring, discovering. From the grand vistas of the mountains to the minutest details, like a beetle moving through a tangle of grass. It is like he has seen it all. Experienced the beginning of time. Moved through the ages. To find himself not at the end. But at another beginning. From the afterword by Ann Jastrab:
