P. 23
On behalf of the entire Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra family and myself, I send heartiest congratulations to the Susquehanna Chorale on its 40th anniversary season.
We have been collaborators for so many memorable concerts during my 21 years with the HSO, ranging from the heights of spirituality, to the most intense of human emotions, to pure wackiness and fun. On every occasion, the splendid musicians of the Susquehanna Chorale have outdone themselves, setting ever higher standards for excellence in choral singing.
Linda Tedford is a master of choral direction and an inspiration, not only to her singers, but also to me and her other colleagues in this community. The Chorale’s intense detailed preparation, combined with their joy of making music, is contagious.
We at the HSO look forward to many more beautiful concerts together. We are fortunate in the greater Harrisburg region to have many wonderful arts groups.
The Susquehanna Chorale has been a gem among us for 40 years.
Bravo, Susquehanna Chorale!
Keep inspiring us with the beauty of your singing!

Elizabethtown Church of the Brethren Mayor’s proclamation
“Connection. That is the word that comes to mind when I think of Linda Tedford and the Susquehanna Chorale. When one experiences a performance by this musically outstanding group, it becomes clear that there is much more going on than getting notes and rhythms right, all parties being sensitive to blend and balance, and singing with a refined technique. These people put humanity first and convey what the music means to them in their facial expressions and body language. This isn’t just about words set to music. It’s about making connections - connections between Ms. Tedford and the group, between the musicians, and most importantly, with the audience. This choir, more so than most, freely invites the audience to be part of the experience and not simply along for the ride. You feel pulled into their joy, their sadness, their whimsy. Quite simply, you are moved. It’s a privilege each time I get to hear them.”
