TECHNOLOGY UPDATE
and that you want the unit repaired.
They’ll get your information and
send a pre-paid RMA slip for you
to ship the unit back and have the
device repaired. The technicians at
DataWorks Plus give the device a full
test before returning it, so everything
will be in perfect working order when
you receive your repaired unit. If it
turns out that your device can’t be
fixed, you will be provided with an
upgraded replacement unit that will
have all your agency’s data installed
prior to delivery.
Additional details about the program
and the application process can be
found on the PCPA website under
the Programs and Services Tab on
the top of the homepage or at the

What Other Technology
Does the PCPA Provide?
Our quarterly bulletin ususally shares
information about the PAVTN and the
Mobile ID program. I want to take
a moment to expand on that and
provide you some additional insight
about some other technology- related
programs that the Association offers.
Offender Identification
Programs
The Pennsylvania Chiefs of Police
Association proudly provides
support to the Commonwealth’s
law enforcement professionals
by administering the Offender
Identification Program (the previously
mentioned Mobile ID units are just
one part of this project). The largest
portion consists of the Booking units
that are in many police departments
and jails. The all-in-one device
captures fingerprints, palmprints,
mug shots, scars, marks, and
tattoos. These units are currently
in over 300 locations throught the
state. The PCPA also provides
training and support for the Booking
process. Online Booking training
can be accessed on the PAVTN, and
in-person training is also avaialbe.
We also provide maintenance
agreements for this equipment at a
discounted rate. If you are looking
for more information on Booking
units, please contact Jerry Miller at
jmiller@pachiefs.org.
Another facet of the Offender ID
program is Facial Recognition. This
tool is currently hosted on the Jnet
application thanks to the partnership
the Association has with the
Pennsylvania Justice Network. This
investigatory tool can be accessed
on Jnet once an officer completes
training in its use (which is also
available on the Jnet application).
cNet 2.0 Records
Management System
The PCPA also partners with
DataWorks Plus to provide the cNet
2.0 RMS. This records management
system is easy to use, and does not
require any additional software to
operate and access- all you need is
an internet connection. An officer
can log on to cNet 2.0 with their Jnet
credentials from the Jnet application.
Pricing is very reasonable, and is
based on the number of people in your
agency. For additional information
regarding cNet 2.0, contact Account
Manager Bill Michael at BMichael@
Dataworksplus.com.
Jnet Conference
The PCPA is proud of our partnership
with Jnet, and is happy to announce
that our next Jnet training conference
