EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR’S MESSAGE
THE ASSOCIATION
HAS EXPERIENCED A
SIGNIFICANT INCREASE
IN MEMBERSHIP AND
ENGAGEMENT. OUR
MEMBERSHIP OUTREACH
AND COMMUNICATION HAS
GROWN EXPONENTIALLY.
WE HAVE AND CONTINUE
TO MAKE IMPROVEMENTS
TO OUR WEBSITE AND
ENHANCE OUR PRESENCE
ON SOCIAL MEDIA
PLATFORMS. WE SUPPORT
THE CONCEPT THAT YOUR
MEMBERSHIP MUST
PROVIDE VALUE TO OUR
MEMBERS.
DEAR MEMBERS,
Ifeel fortunate to serve as the Executive Director of our Association and
witness the tremendous dedication and resolve of police leaders across
the Commonwealth. Our law enforcement leaders embrace challenges and
hold themselves accountable as they work through unparalleled times. Our
members have continuously shown that they are compassionate individuals who
are willing to sacrifice their safety for their communities. Our leaders recognize
the moral and professional duty to reflect the values of their communities, and
they are proud and committed to upholding that obligation.
Pennsylvania’s law enforcement leaders continue to face significant challenges;
protests, politics, juvenile crime, hiring and retirements, hiring/retention, and
reduced budgets. This, in addition to the day-to-day challenges of providing
service to your communities. We are proud of your commitment and courage.
On behalf of our membership, we continue to strongly advocate for all our
members and the critical role of law enforcement. Together we have made
considerable accomplishments.
The work of PLEAC and our best practices and standards is an Association
priority. The work of our Commission members was remarkable. The Pennsylvania
law Enforcement Accreditation Program addresses 125 standards and 270
best practices covering all the contemporary issues facing law enforcement.
The standards are posted for our membership on the PCPA website, increasing
the Associations transparency and accountability. The number of accredited
agencies and agency enrollment continues to grow. Accreditation is the standard
for professional law enforcement in our State. Please visit our website. If you are
not engaged in this process…why not? We are here to support and assist you.
The Association has experienced a significant increase in membership and
engagement. Our membership outreach and communication has grown
exponentially. We have and continue to make improvements to our website
and enhance our presence on social media platforms. We support the concept
that your membership must provide value to our members. We are now offering
a one-time free membership for 2024 to new applicants through the end of
January. Please take advantage of this opportunity or share with a non-member.
We believe you will find value in membership. We need everyone’s voice.
We have engaged media outlets through interviews, op-eds, articles, town
halls and panel discussions across the Commonwealth. We made it a priority
to inform the general public about the issues challenging law enforcement,
ensuring that the voice of our members and profession was part of the
discussion. We expressed our views on traffic safety, police funding, justice in
policing, police-public engagement, accountability, marijuana, impaired driving,
and accreditation.
