Mobile Fingerprint
Identification Devices
The Association continues to
administer the Mobile ID project
for Pennsylvania’s law enforcement
agencies. Mobile Fingerprint
Identification Devices are a great tool
that increase productivity by helping
officers identify subjects in the field.
At this moment there are 265 units
deployed by PA’s police agencies.
There is no cost for the agency to
acquire the unit. The annual all-
inclusive fee covering maintenance,
administration, and secure cellular
service is $1,025.00 per unit. This
price remains unchanged for 2024.
If your agency has an older Mobile ID
unit that is not functioning properly,
service is very simple to obtain. To
start the process, please contact
the support line at (866) 632-2780
(extension 3). Let the representative
know your device’s serial number,
and mention that your agency uses
a PA Chiefs of Police Mobile-ID
device. Advise them of your issues,
and that you want the unit repaired.
They’ll get your information and
send a pre-paid RMA slip for you
to ship the unit back and have the
device repaired. The technicians at
DataWorks Plus give the device a full
test before returning it, so everything
will be in perfect working order when
you receive your repaired unit. If it
turns out that your device can’t be
fixed, you will be provided with an
upgraded replacement unit that will
have all your agency’s data installed
prior to delivery.
Additional details about the program
and the application process can be
