Ownership Transition: The People Factor (1 PDH)
Ownership change is more than a transaction; it’s about people. If you’re the buyer many times you are looking
for an acquisition to meet your firm’s strategic needs, but for the acquisition to result in 1+1 = 3, you must retain and leverage the seller’s talent to realize the benefits of the deal. If you’re the seller you not only want a good financial outcome, but the value of your firm is dependent on your marketability, which is heavily dependent on your people. If you choose to sell your firm or shares internally then it’s all about the people, their ability to lead the firm and keep the “machine running as well as or better than” you did, to not only see your buyout but also to create a sustainable transition strategy. Join AE Advisory experts Scott Hursh and Kate Allen for a discussion on the role people play in M&A and internal ownership transition.
Co-Presented by Scott Hursh, CPA, CCIFP, CDA, CGMA, Director, AE Consulting and Kate Allen, PE, MBA, Director, AE Consulting at Stambaugh Ness, Inc.
