 SPEAKERS - Day 1 Linda Bauer Darr
Linda is President & CEO of the American Council of Engineering Companies. Linda is a veteran lobbyist, transportation policy expert, and association leader. Her 30-plus-year career has included leadership roles in five trade associations, working as an expert on matters ranging from trade and transportation policy to infrastructure investment and economic development. In addition to
her current role, Linda has served as CEO of trade associations representing the railroad industry and the moving and storage industry and, earlier in her career, she advocated for the trucking and motorcoach industries at the American Trucking Association and later at the American Bus Association. Linda also was appointed by President Bill Clinton to serve as Deputy Assistant Secretary of the U.S. Department of Transportation, where she oversaw the budget for the FAA, FHWA, FRA, U.S. Coast Guard and numerous other agencies within the department.
Linda serves on the board of the University of Denver Transportation Institute, the Bryce Harlow Foundation, ASAE’s Key Industry Association Committee, and the U.S. Chamber’s Association Committee of 100. She is a graduate of the University of Maryland.
Scott Butcher, FSMPS, CPSM
Scott is an AE industry veteran with 30 years of experience in strategy, marketing, and business development. As
a former Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer
for a mid-sized engineering firm, Scott brings a unique perspective to his client work, delivering first-hand industry insight and knowledge.
Scott is a sought-after national speaker who has presented
for numerous industry organizations including ACEC, AIA, ASCE,
NCSEA, PSMJ, ROG, SDA, SMPS, and USGBC. A prolific writer, Scott has authored 15 books, written numerous ebooks, white papers, and blogs including his Marketropolis blog for Engineering News-Record. He is a past president of the SMPS Foundation, an AEC research-focused nonprofit organization, and has served on the national board of directors for the Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS). In addition to being a Fellow of SMPS, Scott is also a Certified Professional Services Marketer.
Prior to joining Stambaugh Ness, Scott was the owner/principal of Aecumen, LLC, a firm providing consulting, facilitation, and training for AEC companies.
