Coming down the first climb
Andrew Goldsmith, Rocky O’Sullivan, Vicky Campbell, Jade Rees, Makenzi
Ross, Felix Chombe, Alec Carpenter, Nelson Ayuketang and John Hadzor
to find the best route. The first route
pushed the limits of some of the group and
had to be changed. The second route was
not any easier, we had to use our hands,
knees, bottoms, chest and any other body
parts that made us feel safe to get over
the rocks and boulders leading up to the
top. Time out of our comfort zone was
definitely being explored.
Completion
Eventually the ground started to level out
and as the rocks and boulders became
fewer we realised that we had reached
the summit. There was such a sense of
achievement amongst the group. Most
had overcome fears they had never had
the courage to face and had completed a
climb they had never thought
possible for them. This
is what adventure
training is all
about and the
entire group
agreed that
if given the
opportunity
John Hadzor, Nelson Ayuketang and Makenzi Ross
they would do
it all again,
but not straight
away.
Look Back
Overall, this was a fantastic trip that
took us beyond our comfort zone and we
learned a lot. There were ups and downs,
but we made the most of what we had and
adapted to the situation which brought the
team bond even stronger.
