Adventurous Training
As you look through the following
pages, you can read about the numerous
adventurous training expeditions this year.
The most challenging expedition this year
was the Transglobe circumnavigation of
the World. This was a sailing expedition
that enabled members of the Corps to take
part on different legs of the expedition.
Our Colonel Commandant, Lieutenant
General James Bashall CBE, was a member
of the crew on leg 11. Other notable trips
were trekking to Everest Base Camp,
cycling across Nepal, trekking in Peru,
mapping unexplored caves in India, In Cyprus with Kevern Quinlan
canoeing in Brazil, the Amazon, Canada
and Sweden, and trips to a number of

Sergeant Kevern Quinlan, who served with
me with the Royal Engineers in Kosovo,
before he transferred to the Corps. In June I
was at Founders Day at the Royal Hospital,
Trooping The Colour and then on to the
Flag Raising Ceremony in Winchester,
for Armed Forces Week and finally to
Northern Ireland for their Corps Day
event. Everyone I meet is very welcoming Major (Retired) Joseph Bright MBE

25th Anniversary
Next year is the 25th anniversary of the
formation of the Corps and the intent is
to hold regional events to enable as many
people as possible to attend wherever they
are serving. Watch out for news of the
event that will be happening close to you.
