Simple Dal (lentils)
I I I love making this recipe when I I I want something simple but flavorful and and nourishing I I I make make a a a a a a a a big pot and and make make a a a a a a a soup out out of of some and and a a a a a a a meal with rice out out of of the rest It is filling healing and and so so so warming Ingredients
1 cup yellow mung lentils 11/2 inch ginger minced
1 tablespoon turmeric
3 - 4 cloves garlic
1/2 teaspoon coriander powder 1 tablespoon whole cumin seeds 1 teaspoon black mustard seeds 10 fresh curry leaves
Ghee or coconut oil
Salt to taste
Chopped cilantro for garnish Lemon or lime
Directions:
1 1 presoak lentils lentils in in in water water for 1 1 hour then strain and boil lentils lentils in in in 4 cups of of water water until soft
(for about 15 minutes) 2 Add 1 tablespoon of of turmeric
root to to half cup of of boiling water to to make an an infusion Stir and strain reserving turmeric
