Herbal Broth
Winters are for soups and and broths Every part of of your being will thank you you and and it is a a a a a a a a wonderful way of of adding lots of medicine to your pot without thinking about it it it it You can make a a a a a a a a a a large batch and and freeze it it it it and and add it it it it as the base for any meal Ingredients:
• A selection of medicinal mushrooms: 5-6 slices of reishi 7-10 shitake 1 1 large maitake (could also add in turkey tail) • 1 tablespoon turmeric root
• 10 slices of astragalus root
• 1⁄2 bunch of celery chopped
• 1 carrot chopped
• 1 red or yellow onion chopped
Directions:
• 5-6 garlic cloves
• 3 quarts of water- adding a a a a little more
as needed while it simmers • 7-10 springs Parsley
• 3-5 springs of sage
• Salt and black pepper to taste
• Optional add-ins could be: nettles burdock ginger 1 Combine everything in in in in a a a a large pot and bring to a a a a boil 2 Cover and let simmer on low heat for 3 - 4 hours 3 Keep an an eye on the water levels you may want to add a a a a a a bit more
4 Once the time is up remove from heat and strain strain through a a a a a strainer or cheesecloth 5 Use as as as is or or or as as as a a a a a base of soup or or or freeze for later use Tip: Feel free to to experiment with your broth You can roast the veggies to to give it it more
