’d like to welcome Sandhurst’s players, staff and
Iofficials along with today’s match officials to
‘The Lane’, I’m sure you will all have a pleasant stay
                           and will be treated well.

We go into today’s game off of the back of a good cup
win in midweek and although it wasn’t in the league it was a massive
win for us that stands us in good stead for today.
The overall performance was polished, scoring four and keeping a clean
         sheet was huge.
We’ve had a tough period of late losing to late goals and avoidable situa-
tions but on the whole, there have been gradual improvements.
Tuesday was testament to that and the boys were brilliant, keeping a
clean sheet and really building on what we’ve been trying to achieve.
We will obviously be looking to pick up three points today in the league
but it will be massively tough with Sandhurst flying high in the table.
This game is followed by visits to Hayes and Jersey which both pose
their challenges but we are confident that we can pick up points to start
         climbing the table.
The youngsters (U18s) at the club have been a real asset in recent weeks
getting themselves on the scoresheet in games and helping towards
some solid performances as well as a few establishing themselves in the
U23s as well, it’s been a real shining light during a difficult moment.
It’s something that I have hit on numerous times but they really are a key
part of the future of this club and to have so many players of that age
capable of playing at 1st team level is fantastic.
The transitional period which I think is now over has to become the
proof in the pudding and we will have to start putting results on the
board to show that the work we’ve been doing has been effective.
Going forward the aim is obviously to be higher in the table and I’m
sure that in my notes later on in the year towards April or May time that
         it will be the case.
Hopefully, you will all enjoy the game this afternoon, you can look for-
ward to getting maximum effort from the boys and we’ll be doing our
best to grab all three points.
