fter 6 years at Chessington & Hook Unit-
Aed Football Club, I’m saddened and dis-
appointed to announce that I will be stepping
down as first-team manager.
Off-field circumstances have changed for me over the last few
years with family life and work, my ability to put 100% into my
role has become harder over time. being a manager at this level;
believe it or not, is like another full-time job, and I haven’t been
able to fully commit myself to this recently. I always try to give my
all into everything I do, and I don’t think it is fair on the club or the
players to continue.
I would like to thank the Club, Graham Ellis and especially Andy
Ellis for giving me the opportunity 6 years ago, in that time I’ve
met some amazing people at the club. Andy and I became very
close friends and became pretty much inseparable. We’ve gone
through some tough times but I will always remember all the good
times we’ve had together. I have nothing but total respect for Andy
who is the most hard-working, honest and genuine person I have
ever met.
I feel like I’m leaving the club in a healthy position off the field, so
many improvements have taken place during my time at Chessy.
A huge thank you to everyone that has been or still is a member of
the committee and fundraising team. It’s been an absolute pleasure
working alongside you and improving the club to make it better
for all.
On the field it’s been rather inconsistent over the 6 years, we’ve
been involved in promotions and relegations, we’ve had a few good
cup runs including some memorable FA Cup and FA Vase wins
against higher opposition over the years.
