        Ripley Village 1

Pre-Season Friendly 13 July 2019 Chalky Lane, Chessington

The pre-season friendly against Ripley Village ended in a defeat but it
was ‘another decent run out for the lads, who looked a lot fitter’ Woodsy
          he pre-season friendlies are quickly
Tforgotten once the season gets un-
derway, but any defeat is a disappoint-
ment, especially after creating so many
chances in the second half, with last
      season’s top scorer Kieron Scantlebury
failing to find the back of the net on this
occasion. Credit must go to the Ripley
Village defence, who clung on to their
first-half lead and despite the constant
      pressure and numerous corners, the
      goalkeeper wasn’t seriously troubled.
         ‘Overall a solid performance’

“Another decent run out for the lads who
looked a lot fitter, a blank in front of goal
as numerous chances went begging but
overall a solid performance. The visitors
held on to their early goal with bodies
behind the ball in the second half.” Defender Ben Thorne in action
Whilst the game was still in play, Solid defending during the
repair work on the shower block second half ensured Ripley
