Hello SJGS Parents and Staff!

At the beginning of the school year, with so much
uncertainty ahead of us, our Executive Board held a
meeting to focus our goals and unite our efforts. While we
had many ideas, we kept coming back to the belief that no
matter what we achieved in this unpredictable year, we
would use every chance we could to continue to build up
the feeling of family that we as SJGS moms were craving more of for the St. Joseph Grade School community.

As 2020 comes to a close, we wanted to let you all know how grateful and
thankful we are as both a PTA organization and as individual parents. We
each volunteer our time, heading up fundraisers and events which assist our
students and staff with the resources they need to have a meaningful and
successful school year, and we simply would not be able to do what we do,
working to build a feeling of community for our families, if we didn’t have
as many supportive parents in our school as we do.

We are incredibly blessed to have such caring and sympathetic parents and
staff as we attempt to navigate this uncertain school year. You amaze us with your flexibility when it comes to
our events and the surprise last minute changes we find ourselves navigating, even when those last minute
changes are not at all what you were expecting and hoping.

Our November fundraiser with Board & Brush Red Bank was a blast, as many of you joined us for our Zoom
Painting party in lieu of painting in person in the school cafeteria. We thank you for your willingness to shift
locations. Reducing exposure to the school environment and putting the safety of our children first became
paramount with the increase in Covid-19 cases. If you weren’t able to join us for the Zoom party, there are still
options available to complete your project in person at the Board & Brush studio in Red Bank. Please email the
pta@stjoeschooltr.org if you would like more information on the rescheduled options being held mid-
December.

Our Scentsy fundraiser and Tea & Treats with Santa and Family Photo events were also incredibly successful.
Secretly, we all cooed over your beautiful families and wished for more time with the jolly red elf, and more of
those delicious treats! We also hear that those Scentsy orders have come in handy with adding to the festive
feeling in your homes.

While our calendar is a bit light this winter, we promise more fun and exciting events
come spring! Please check out the flyer on page 6 for our December Dining Out fundraiser
at Philly Philly Steaks on Route 37. PPS has generously agreed to donate 25% of sales for
the entire day, dine in or carry out, on Wednesday, December 16th. Mention SJGS or
show the flyer so your server knows you’re supporting SJGS.

As we find ourselves zooming through the year (temporarily, hopefully) we wanted to
remind you that you can still purchase your “Zooming through the Year” gear for you and
your family direct from Farro’s Tees. Your order can be shipped to your address, or

posted on our Facebook (SJGS PTA - Toms River) and Instagram
