FALL 2020
Introducing: The ORAC
Commercial Contractor Manual
To our valued ORAC Commercial Contractor Members,
I am very pleased to announce the 1st edition of the new ORAC Commercial Contractor’s Manual. During my
tenure as your president, my main goal was to work with Mike, Jessica and Aimee to develop this “User Manual” for
commercial contractors and to streamline our association operations as well as help more members get more value
out of their ORAC membership experience.
The purpose of the manual is to explain to ORAC members, new or existing, “how ORAC works” so that our
members can take full advantage of all the resources available to you. These resources could include anything from
brazing, to labour relations, to the apprentice intake program, and committee work to name just a few. The manual
will also cover the inner workings of the ORAC Bylaws and the Board of Directors. As a resource document
intended to be used by all employee representatives of our existing member contractors as well as when a new
contractor member is onboarded into the association. Please feel free to share it with your employees as you see
fit.
As part of streamlining and improving our association, another benefit to our members that
the ORAC team is working on is a “refreshed” website that will be launched in early 2021. It will incorporate some
new database features as well as self-management options for our members. It will be more user friendly and will
allow you to manage your own company information and easily access member resources. It will also more closely
link the ORAC and Apprentice Intake Program websites ensuring a smoother information flow. We expect this new
website approach will make it easier for you to navigate so that, again, you maximize your experience.
New Website and Contractors Manual Introduction – Feb 2021
Once the full website transition is complete, I would like to introduce that to you as well. I will be launching these
two initiatives using a virtual webinar via Zoom to present the new Commercial Contractors Manual and the new
website in February 2021 so I will walk you through all the new ORAC functionality of the website and the manual.
We will continue to bring improvements and initiatives to our associations. I look forward to speaking with you
again early next year.
Stay healthy and be safe! Keep positive through these challenging times.
