THE POWER OF OUR COMMUNITY
RETAIL SUCCESS
Our Retail Logistics team visit around 3,500 homes a year for either pickups or deliveries. The most unusual item they have collected was a stuffed baby deer!
Our Te Omanga Hospice shops remain a vital source of funding for our hospice. Open seven days a week, they are staffed by paid managers and supported by a dedicated team of volunteers.
This year saw increased volunteer numbers in all shops, we are deeply grateful for these individuals contributing their time and skills.
Our Retail Logistics team, with the help of volunteers, operates six days a week. We have two vehicles on the road from Monday to Friday and one on Saturdays. The team predominantly covers the Wellington and Hutt Valley areas.
Despite the economic challenges with increasing costs faced by the retail sector, this year has been transformative for our retail division. We’ve demonstrated our ability to grow, adapt, and make a positive impact on the community.

VOLUNTEERED IN OUR HOSPICE SHOPS
Overall, Retail achieved a 5% increase in total revenue compared to the previous year, reaching $2.86 million in sales. Additionally, we experienced a rise in donated goods, driven by successful donation drives and enhanced community engagement through local radio promotions.
We also implemented a new Point of Sale system in all our shops. This upgrade allows Te Omanga Hospice to gain better insights into each shop’s sales, with the ability to drill down into specific categories.
