Our Club, Our Community
Paremata Plimmerton boasts a strong membership of approximately 180 Seniors, 400 Juniors and 100+ Social members and growing.
Based at Ngati Toa domain, our newly refurbished clubrooms comes with a fully equipped kitchen and bar facilities and has a maximum capacity of 290 people.
Ngāti Toa Domain is connected to a number of Ngāti Toa hapū with the Club having strong ties to Ngāti Toa and Hongoeka Marae based in Plimmerton.
The Club has a Director of Rugby who promotes the game within the community and coordinates all Senior rugby and coaching within the Club.
The Club also has a significant Junior tournament each year named after one of our Junior legends – the Christian Cullen Sevens (playing for the Club in the 80’s) where around 700 young people play in the tournament each year.
The Club is a registered charity CC53893. Any personal donation is entitled to a personal rebate of 33% from IRD.
Offload
Offload was developed within Paremata Plimmerton with a focus on player welfare. Offload is about changing the conversation and bringing mental health using sport as a conduit. Its about removing stigma and bringing mental health to the forefront; developing a strong culture of player welfare within the Club and connecting with the community.
Offload programme can be summarise in the following areas:
1. Knowledge and Understanding - Mental health and leadership programmes investing in our coaches and senior players to create the right environment.
2. Culture - Creating Offload Champions within the Club to help players and advocate change both at a team and Club level.
3. Community - Removing barriers both fear of the unknown and financial to get people help when they need it by bringing the health community into the Club.
