THE REPUBLIC OF NAURU IS AN ISLAND COUNTRY IN MICRONESIA, NORTHEAST OF AUSTRALIA. NAURU IS THE THIRD SMALLEST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD WITH THE THIRD SMALLEST POPULATION OF OVER 12,000.
Trade mark protection
The Nauru Trademarks Act 2019 has come into force and trade mark applications can now be filed directly in Nauru. However, Nauru’s trade mark registry does not currently have someone in the role of Registrar. As a result, there is a backlog of applications. It is unclear when condition will improve and is likely that trade mark applications will be stalled for some time.
