METAL CORNICE
The entire metal cornice work on the fourth floor was removed numbered, labeled, taken to a shop and completely refinished piece by piece. The metal was then coated with a primer to prevent rust and painted with two coats of paint. The wood blocking behind the metal cornice was repaired, removing all wood rot and adding additional framing to needed areas. The wood was then sealed and covered with a membrane to protect the building from water and ice intrusion. Once completed the original metal work, now fully renovated was reassembled.
BYLIN SNOW-MELT SYSTEM
One of the largest issues with the building was snow and ice build up on the metal cornice and roof. A new revolutionary product from Bylin was incorporated into the Tabor Grand’s roof. This fully computerized system, knows the exterior temperature conditions and approaching storms. Knowing all of these variables the system can turn on heating elements built into the metal cornice on the fourth floor as well as the roof. Keeping the snow and ice in these areas to a minimum helping to keep the buildings envelop in great condition and discouraging ice and water intrusion.
