WINDOWS
Windows are one of the most important items in any historic renovation, Overland Property Group looked at the most intricate details for each window and every option available for the building. Ultimately OPG decided to go with the most complete, long-lasting and expensive solution for The Tabor Grand; restoring each window by hand.
Even with this high standard for restoration, Overland Property Group wasn’t happy with the energy efficiency that the 130-year-old original single pane windows provided for its’ residents. On OPG’s direction, numerous consultants, restoration companies and historic experts set out looking for a way to increase the energy efficiency of the original single pane windows. They arrived at an idea that preserved the windows original look. The idea was to mill out the original windows, making the windows double pane and dramatically increasing the energy efficiency. The cost to undertake the meticulous renovation and add the energy efficient second pane of glass was extremely expensive, well over a half a million dollars.
This 50-year guaranteed renovation brings all of the windows in the building to full functionality with greatly enhanced energy efficiency.
