Value Our Neighborhoods
1. Strengthen our community by embracing our diversity, engaging our residents and empowering our neighborhoods.
The Residence at Arbor Grove will be a mixed-income community with 80% of the units set aside for citizens making no more than 60% of AMI. Many seniors in Arlington are on fixed income and would qualify for this housing.
The remaining 20% of the units will be un-restricted and available to any senior in the community. This mixing of income approach has been proven to be a very good way of uniting citizens of all income levels as seen at The Gardens at Creekside in Kansas City.
The neighborhood would benefit greatly from this $18 million investment. The adjacent property, Heritage Oaks, is a skilled nursing facility and for obvious reasons they have expressed a sincere desire to see this development move forward. Our community would have a symbiotic relationship and offer a virtual continuum of care retirement community. Add in the fact that the hospital is less than a quarter mile away and this will become the premier retirement community in Arlington.
