Just by chance, while shopping at the mall called
Cinderella City (1979) in Denver, we were introduced
to a new world of dog show people in the main
corridor. There were booths for almost every breed
and we learned that others who were owned by chows
had a social club. OMG - socializing with people and
their dogs?!? We were invited to the next meeting at
the home of Jeff and Susie Sedillos in Littleton, CO
for a potluck dinner and fun time learning about
a Rocky Mountain Chow Chow Club and we also
were invited to see their dogs. Shortly after that, this
club we’d joined hosted a National Specialty and we

Buurman of Netherlands while ‘Arthur’ was winning in an entry of 157 chows entered. We met so many
Europe – our doggie exchange process. We both have people whose photos we’d seen in the Chow Reporter,
some other interests outside of the kennel but over Chow Life and other magazines we bought at auctions
time, this is the one we enjoy the most and the reason for research we were doing and they let us learn about
it endures may be the promise of the next great dog in their dogs. One piece of advice that was given to me by
each breeding we do. Dr. JoAnne O’Brien, was to find the type of chow you
like, as you will learn there are many types... then find
out who the Grandsire is and you might get closer to
what you want to find in a breeding.
In the hospitality room at the host hotel in
Northglenn, CO we became acquainted with the
history of CCCI, OFA and were bitten by the show
bug. It took us some time to be accepted as the
newbies that we were in the breeder community,
