President’s
Message
Over the past few weeks we have seen multiple hurricanes, wild fires and earth quakes
that have devastated parts of the United States and neighboring countries. This has
really made me stop and think about what is important in our lives and I am sure you
have too. As such, I am very proud that the Chow Chow Board of Directors has made
a $1,000 donation on behalf of the membership to AKC Reunite to help the victims
of these natural disasters. As of writing this message, AKC Reunite has collected over
$350,000 from numerous parent clubs, all-breed clubs and caring individuals and goes
to show that working together we can make a difference and help where needed.
Planning for next year’s National Specialty is well under way and please make sure to
plan to be in Tulsa, Oklahoma from April 15th through the 21st. The Show Committee
is hard at work to make it a memorable specialty. Please keep in mind that we are
always looking for help in many ways such as: helping out at the specialty, donations
to the hospitality fund and trophy funds, or donating items for the auction. If you would like to help in any way, please let
Carmen Blankenship know and I am sure she can find a job for you.
Please also mark your calendars for the 2019 National Specialty in Orlando, Florida from April 20th to the 26th.
Chawnecy Vaughn has once again stepped up and will serve as Show Chair and I am sure he would appreciate any
support he can get as well. If any clubs or individuals are interested in hosting the 2020 National Specialty, please keep in
mind that bids are due to Linda Alberts no later than March 15, 2018.
As always, if you have any ideas or suggestions to promote the Club, please get in touch with me at your convenience as I
am always open to new ideas.
