President’s
Message
by Dave Cook
A big thank you goes out to the 2018 Show Committee for another successful National Specialty in
Tulsa. For those of you who could not attend, you missed a National Specialty week filled with great
competition, fun social activities and educational events. If you missed the show, DVDs of the event are
available now.
Our 2019 National Specialty will be held in Orlando, Florida from April 22nd through the 26th.
Chawnecy Vaughn, Show Chairman promises us another great week and I urge you to make your plans
now to attend.
The CCCI Board had a very productive meeting as we revised the By-Laws, approved a new Judges
Ballot process that will start for the 2020 National Specialty, revised the Membership application,
approved a contract for the new CCCI website, approved a bid for the 2020 National Specialty from
the Wine Country Chow Chow Club from April 26 – 30, 2019. We also began discussing ways to help
support our regional clubs as many are struggling to survive. The revised By-Laws will be first sent to the
AKC for pre-approval and then sent out to the membership for ratification this summer.
The Board also appointed Michael Ireland as Chairman of the Nominating Committee and anyone
interested in serving on the Board should contact him at mireland@sunlink.net.
It is with mixed emotions that I announce that Michael Heldt will be stepping down as Editor of Chow
Life. Michael has done a fantastic job as Editor and his shoes will be hard to fill. Carol Ann Klein has
agreed to take over starting with the fall
edition of Chow Life. Andrew Eugenio
will be helping Carol Ann in marketing
Chow Life.
As always, if you have any ideas
or suggestions to promote the Club,
please get in touch with me at your
convenience as I am always open to
new ideas.
