A Note from the Author

When I was a special education teacher, I wrote

social stories for my students that we would use

as a tool to help guide them through new and

challenging social situations. My goal with this

book is similar in that parents can use it as a

conversation starter during this unprecedented

time in parenting, where we are all learning and

adapting together.

I used to envy those who were quarantined

without children, day-dreaming about a

responsibility-free day—but I now know parents

are the lucky ones. Children with their

simplicity, joy, and innocence place us right

back into the present, where we all belong.
