Ensure Engineering Supervisors are aware of the requirements and the responsibility for signing off
            vehicles as roadworthy following a pre-use check


        The Operations Director (or equivalent) must:

         Ensure all drivers are made aware, in writing, of their responsibilities with regard to undertaking pre-use
            checks.
         Ensure there is adequate training for drivers in undertaking pre-use checks and completing required
            documentation.
         Ensure drivers are aware of the requirement to report all defects identified on pre-use checks to an
            authorised person (usually an engineer).
          Ensure that where drivers consistently fail to complete the pre-use check or require paperwork or
            systems correctly that they are managed accordingly.


        The Engineer´s line manager must:

              The engineer´s line Manager will be held accountable for ensuring Engineers have the
               necessary training, experience and currency to meet the legal requirements as well as those in the
               Group Maintenance Standards and policies, and that this documentation is maintained and
               completed. Failure to do so will be dealt with in accordance with the company’s progressive
               discipline policy and serious failings may be considered as gross misconduct.
