Definitions
OEM Original Equipment Manufacturer As fitted part originally by the manufacturer or available
as a spare part from the manufacturer, generally as
supplied when the vehicle was delivered new.
This may also include parts manufactured by a supplier
to the vehicle manufacturer. An example would be an
Alcoa alloy wheel supplied by Alcoa rather than Volvo.
Fire Thermal incident which may, or may not, lead to vehicle
loss
Fire Suppression System deployed automatically to prevent the
extinguish and prevent the spread of fire.
Minor thermal incidents. Incident that the on-board fire prevention system or the
driver extinguish.
In addition, the affected area has been limited and the
damage to the vehicle is small and repairable.
Major/significant fire. In case of the fire started inside the cabin area must be
considered as a major/significant fire (passenger risk).
The rest must be considered as a major/significant fire.
In case of doubt we must consider it as a
major/significant fire.
Third party operators As all incidents of fires are directly related to safety,
incidents of third party operators must be reported in
the monthly KPIs.
