Students were able to produce a digital illustration using the
tools available in Photoshop, such as layering, image
manipulation, and paint brushes.
Aisyah: A vector based software. More user friendly than photoshop
when producing your own artwork. The pen input is a lot more flexible
as well.
Fiqri: This software was quite advance and able to produce a better
visual quality. A staple software amongst students to produce their CAD
Naufal: I managed to make use of some of the features although the drawings as it allows them to produce an accurate and neat
usage is still a little blurry to me drafting compared to the traditional method of manual
drawing.
Allows students to produce a more accurate 3D model, with
the ability to simultaneously form a structural design, plans,
elevations and sections from the model unlike in AutoCAD
where each view needs to be drafted individually.
COLLECTIVE DISCUSSION
After applying the aforementioned softwares in our assignments, it is
clear that many of us have learnt many new skills. The skills learnt from
each software tend to overlap amongst students. This can be An easy to learn modelling software where students can
concluded in such a way that the students collectively achieved the explore their 3D massing. The user-friendly interface is intuitive
intended functions of the programs. and does not rely on structural accuracy yet is still able to
produce models as a visual aid.
These shared skills were compiled to show an overview of how it can be
beneficial to architectural students in their path to further enhance their
digital based assignments and projects.
Although not primarily a drafting or modelling software,
Illustrator allows students to create digital illustrations in vector
form which can be exported to use in their works.
