Not everything we do is military!

We have a Camera Obscura - a fascinating device to
capture images, as used by the very well known 18th
Century artist, Paul Sandby.

Paul Sandby was employed by the
army to observe and record - our
soldiers and wives make wonderful
models for members of the public to
have a go at recreating a picture too.

Chinois was a very popular style of
pottery and many fragments have
been found in excavations of 18th
century forts in America. We have
a beautiful set, perhaps used by the
surgeon in our field hospital.
