To the JRF Class of 2020 Scholars,
From being the first JRF class to participate in our New Scholar Orientation,
which is now an annual rite of passage for incoming freshmen, to
graduating during the COVID-19 pandemic and in the midst of revolutionary
protests across the nation, we stop and marvel at your distinctiveness and
perseverance. Without a doubt, you deserve recognition for your unique
place in our Foundation’s history. Through your engagement in our program
and your excellence in and out of the classroom, you
have helped our team grow and, for that, we are grateful.
You truly embody Jackie Robinson’s spirit of discipline,
integrity, courage, compassion, and humility.
No senior class has ever faced an obstacle like the one
you face today, but we are confident that you will meet
the unique challenges of this ever-changing world. We
take comfort in the fact that you are the next generation
of leaders. As you complete your final academic
responsibilities and begin your post-collegiate transition, we
encourage you to engage in creative ways to celebrate this
monumental achievement.
As your collegiate experience comes to a close, the JRF
community will continue to support and celebrate you
as you journey on your chosen path. We implore you to
update us on your achievements, challenges, and all of your significant
milestones along the way. The Jackie Robinson Foundation celebrates you.
