Health & Physical Education Department Program Review
Potential Implications (Short-Term and Long-Term): Within the instruction component of the Model for
Teaching and Learning, the district has identified the use of well-understood classroom routines as an
instructional best practice. Creating common classroom expectations for all students in all Health & Physical
Education classes will strengthen student knowledge of classroom routines and behaviors. This is important
especially for classes that do not meet daily. The use of common expectations throughout the years in a
department with intermittent class time will help create a deep understanding of the habits of healthy behavior and
assist in the development of habits of wellness in students.
