In the 1990s, technology in India felt as distant as owning a car in a middle-class
household. Today, with the world on the brink of an AI revolution, adapting is no
longer a choice—it’s a necessity.
To position India as a global AI leader, AICTE has declared 2025 as the "Year of AI,"
integrating AI education across 14,000 colleges and empowering 40 million students
with essential skills. The government has allocated ₹2,000 crore in the Union Budget
to develop India’s own AI model, inspired by platforms like DeepSeek and ChatGPT.

Keeping in mind inclusive development and technological advancement, India is
expected to increase its global leaders in artificial intelligence (AI) countries in 2025.
India is amongst the world's top four countries in AI development, with an economic
outcome of automated applications in AI expected at $500 billion in urban planning,
healthcare, and agriculture.
AI regulation in India will undertake a proactive approach towards an ethical AI-in-
use due to the voice of the public in regulation. Public appreciation will thus be
garnered because of the fact that it is really necessary to quell public fears.
