(chapter 5, verse 8, through chapter 6:12),

and the pursuit of morality (chapter 7,

verse 1, through chapter 12, verse 12)."

That really sums up this entire book.

But we're talking about the things that

the author pursued apart from God. We are

going to read this entire chapter, and then

we'll start skipping around a little bit. But

notice the things that Solomon pursued,

chapter 1, beginning at verse 12:

“I the Preacher was king over Israel in

Jerusalem. And I gave my heart to
