             States Congress recorded “The Reprobation of

             to suppress gambling, horseracing, and theatrical



             entertainment.   In  October  1778  they  enacted


             that “a person holding office under the authority


             of the U.S. who shall act, promote, encourage,


             or attend such plays shall be dismissed.”  I’ve
