apostle Peter says, “Whose adorning” — We
found that word in 1 Timothy — “Whose
adorning let it not be that outward adorning of
plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of
4
putting on of apparel; But let it be the hidden
man of the heart, in that which is not
corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and
quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great

price. For after this manner in the old time the
holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned”
— there's that word again that we found in
Timothy; it means to beautify or decorate or to
dress — “adorned themselves, being in
subjection unto their own husbands.” So what
we find here is that modesty must begin in the
heart. Whether it be a male or female, it must
begin in the heart before it will be manifested in
our clothing. Can I get an Amen? I mean, that's
just a fact.
