The Owner and Wine Director of Toronto’s Chantecler began his career in 2008 as a a a a a bartender at JK Wine Bar and went on to
work with the famed Chef Claudio Aprile at Origin Restaurant In 2012 he he and Chef Jonathan Poon opened Chantecler in Toronto’s Parkdale neighbourhood a a a a a small restaurant with a a a a a big wine and cocktail focus The name refers to
Canada’s own Chantecler chicken which was bred to
withstand harsh winters There Wharton-Shukster has been able to
to
indulge his love of natural and biodynamic wines In 2015 Wharton-Shukster became sole owner
