iyi ki varlar?
✔︎ Evde hayvan olur mu olmaz mı çok tartışılan bir konu. Gayet güzel oluyor bence. İyi ki, iyi ki varlar gerçekten. Bunu çok içten hissederek tekrarlıyorum. Hayat onlar- la çok güzel. İmkanım olsa eve maymun, köpek, keçi de alırım. Hayvanları çok seviyorum. Farklı bir organizmay- la hayatı paylaşmak ve onlarla hiç konuşmadan diyalog kurabilmek çok değerli. Sevgileri içimi ısıtıyor ve onların hayatında dış dünyayla bağlantı kuran tek varlık olmak çok büyük sorumluluk gerektiriyor.
Hayvanların terk edilmeleri ile ilgili birkaç cümle ku- racak olsanız, ne dersiniz?
✔︎ Ne diyeyim, çok can sıkıcı bir durum bu. Maalesef, hâlâ hayvanları eşya gibi, hediye gibi eve alan çok insan var. Uğraşmak istemeyince sokağa bırakıyorlar. Ev ortamına alışmış hayvanın da sokakta pek şansı olmuyor. Genel olarak, duyarsızlıktan kaynaklandığını düşünüyorum; ama bu konuda gitgide daha farkındalık sahibi bir toplum olacağımızı umut etmek istiyorum.
Bir hayvansever olarak sokak hayvanları için neler yapıyorsunuz?
✔︎ Sokak hayvanları canımız. Elimden geleni yapmaya çalışıyorum. Günlük etkileşimde olduğum hayvanlar şirket bahçemizde 3 senedir baktığımız kedilerimiz ve oturduğum evin sokağındaki kedi ve köpekler. Onların beslenmeleri, temiz bir şekilde barınabilmeleri ve gerek- tiğinde veterinere götürülmeleri için destek olmaya ça-
What does it mean for you to have a pet in the house? Why do they luckily exist?
✔︎ We debate on this issue very much; should we have a pet in the house or not. I think it goes on very well. It’s a good thing, I am glad they exist. I repeat this feeling very sincerely. Life is so beautiful with them. If I had the op- portunity, I would adopt a monkey, dog and goat as well. I love animals very much. Sharing the life with a different organism and communicating with the animals without talking to them is very valuable. I am very affected by their love and it is a great responsibility to be the only contact of the animals with the outside world.
Would you like to say something about abandoning the pets?
✔︎ What can I say? This is very annoying. Unfortunate- ly, there are still a lot of people who buy the animals like buying a gift. When they don’t want to work hard, they are abandoning the pets. The animal that is accustomed to the home environment does not have much chance in the street. In general, I think it is due to apathy; but I want to hope that we will become more aware of this issue as a society.
What are you doing for street animals as an animal lover?
✔︎ I really care about the animals living in the streets. I’m trying to do my best. The animals I’ve been interacting with everyday are the cats we have been looking for in our company’s garden for 3 years and the cats and dogs on the street, near my home. I’m trying to support them for finding them shelter and for taking them to the vet- erinary, if needed. We have come a long way since the
