The Big Fish movie, which was adapted by Daniel Wal- lace’s book and directed by Tim Burton in 2003, is among the movies to be watched with the score of 8.0 in IMDB.
William Bloom returns to his family home because his father has cancer. He starts to collect stories about his father’s youth, in order to get to know his father well, who is a traveling salesman and has a legendary person- ality. Legends and myths about his father’s life will fall into place as pieces of a puzzle and disclose the life of a complicated man with his victories and weaknesses. The movie is placed near the top among the movies that con be watched by a father and son together.

Little Deniz, who lost his mother in the military coup in
1980, (his father gives him the name which was given to many boys at that time) travels to the farm of his grandfather in Aegean Region, whom he had never seen, seven years later. The reason why Deniz had never seen his grandfather is that his grandfather and his father are not on speaking terms with each other for years. When Huseyin Efendi learned that his son, whom he sent to study, is involved in political events he disowned his son... The reason why Sadık had come back to his father’s house, despite everything, is that he had to leave his young son. He would entrust his little son to his father. In the full sense of the word Deniz nds himself in the midst of a sweet yet a bit screwy family on this farm... While Sadık fac- es the real Turkey that he had fought for, a lover that he had abandoned and himself in the village, the child would melt all the ice between his grandfather and his father.
The movie, in which Çetin Tekindor, Fikret Kuşkan, Binnur Kaya and Özge Özberk are starring, is among the best Turkish productions in which the relationship between father and son is represented.
