Sicilya’nın en popüler, uğrak duraklarından biri, Ka- tanya şehri. Nüfusu yaklaşık 320 bin. İtalya’nın en büyük 10’uncu şehri, adanın ise, ikinci büyük şehri. Burası, Etna Yanardağı’na ev sahipliği yapıyor. Sadece, bu kadar değil tabii... Gezmenin, eğlencenin, yemeğin merkezi olan bu şehirde insan dur durak bilmiyor ve kendini şehrin akışı- na bırakıyor. O zaman, hadi Etna’ya tırmanalım!
Etna Yanardağı
Etna Yanardağı, bugün Avrupa’nın en büyük yanardağı olduğu gibi, dünyanın da en aktif yanardağlarından. Za- man zaman patlayan zaman zaman köpüren bir yanar- dağ burası. En son, 2016 yılında lavlarını dışarı püskürt- müş; ama insanlar, bu duruma artık alışmış. Zaten dağ püskürmeden önce belli başlı sinyaller verdiğinden do- layı, insanlar gerekli önlemlerini alıyor. Can ve mal kaybı olmadan bu püskürmeleri atlatıyorlar.
Biz de tabii adrenalin seven bir ekip olarak hemen Et- na’nın eteklerine, yanardağa doğru tırmanalım istiyoruz. Etna’ya çıkmak için özel turlar düzenleniyor. Özel jipler turistleri gelip otellerinden alıyor ve macera başlıyor. Tur boyunca adrenalin dolu dakikalar yaşanıyor. Yer yer lav- ların arasından safari yaparken, zaman zaman da mola verip lavların zirveden aşağı doğru akarken çevreye ver- diği zararı gözlemliyoruz. Evler nasıl zarar görmüş, net bir şekilde görülüyor.
Oldukça ilginç olan bu turda, duman tüten zirvelere çı- kılmak istenirse, bayağı kalın kalın giyinmek lazım; çünkü zirveye doğru çıkıldıkça, rüzgar ve soğuk etkisini inanıl- maz artırıyor. Hatta rüzgardan uçanlar bile oluyormuş. Bu sebeple, biz de Yakupcan uçmasın diye dumanın tüt- tüğü doruklara çıkmaktan vazgeçiyoruz; ama isteyenler bu kraterleri görmek için yürüyerek bile çıkabiliyor. Spo- ru ve adrenalini sevenler için kesinlikle Etna Dağı tavsiye edilir.
Bu tur, yaklaşık üç-dört saat sürüyor; ama isteyenler, bütün günlerini bu tura da ayırabiliyor.

Etna Volcano
