Ülkenin adı, İspanyol kral Filip’ten geldi- ği için tarihinde konulduğu günkü gibi bugün de hala Filipin- ler olarak anılıyor. 7’den fazla adadan meydana gelen adalar ülkesi güneydoğu Asya’da gizli kalmış bir cennet. Filipinler Pasifik okyanusunda yer alan bir ülke.
Ülkemizden ulusal havayolumuz ile yaklaşık 10 saatte direk uçuşla başkent Manila’ya gidilebiliyor. Para birimi Fi- lipinler Pezosu. Tayvan, Çin ve Vietnam’la komşu olan bir ülke Filipinler... I will tell you about a country and it is likely that you will hear about it for the rst time: The Philippines...The country was named after the Spanish King Phillip and today, it is still called the Philippines. Consisting of more than 7 islands, this island country is a hidden paradise in the south-east Asia. Philip- pines is a country surrounded by Paci c Ocean.
It takes approximately 10 hours to y to the capital city Ma- nila by direct ight of our national airline. The o cial curren- cy is Philippine Peso. The Philippines is neighbour of Taiwan, China and Vietnam. Its climate is hot throughout the year; however, the year is divided into two: rainy summer and dry summer. The country experiences torrential rain during the rainy season and sun always shines during the dry summer.
The population of the country is approximately 105 mil- lion. Population of the capital Manila is around 20 million. It is the most populated eighth country in Asia and it accom- modates the 12th biggest population of the world. It is worth reminding that nearly 15 million Filipinos work abroad, away from their homes.
The country with total land area of 343,000 square km is the largest 64th country of the world. Consisting of thou- sands of islands, Philippines is the 5th among countries with the longest coastline. The country’s coastline is 37,000 km long. You can jump into the sea from any corner of the coun- try.
