Filipinlerin Başkenti Manila
Ülkeyi oluşturan üç ana coğrafi kara parçası var. Bunlar, Luzon, Visayas ve Mindanao’dur. Ülkenin başkenti Manila iken, en kalabalık şehri Quezon şehri. Bu iki kent de Manila yönetimsel birimine bağlı. Manila, ülkenin en büyük adası olan Luzon’da Manila Bay’ın doğu kıyısında buluyor. Mani- la, ismini May Nilad’dan geliyor. Niland yerel dilde; tropikal kuşaktaki kıyı ve bataklıklarda yetişen bir bitki cinsi olan “mangrov”’un çiçek açması anlamına geliyor. Bu sebeple de şehir, bu bitkinin adını taşıyor.

Manila, Capital City of Philippines
The country consists of three main geographical divi- sions. These are Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. Capital city of the country is Manila but the most populous city is Que- zon. Both cities are a part of Metro Manila. Manila is in Lu- zon-the biggest island of the country- in the eastern shore of Manila Bay. The name Manila comes from May Nilad. Nilad means the owering of “mangrov” that is a plant spe- cies growing in tropical shores and swamps. Therefore, the city was named after this plant.
Philippines is a fantastic country in the Asian shores with highly populated mega cities, more than twenty active volcanoes, 2000-year-old rice terraces inscribed in UNE- SCO’s World Heritage List, more than one hundred ethnic communities with diverse cultural aspects, amazing trop- ical islands and friendly people. As one of the countries with the longest shoreline with more than 7,000 islands, it is not di cult to imagine the beauty of islands and beach- es in the Philippines. El Nido, Palawan Island, Panglao, Mindoro islands are unbelievably beautiful. Every corner of this country is a real treasure with undiscovered riches including wonderful caves, Boracay with sands shining like pearls in the shores of the turquoise colour sea and many more.
