İSTEYEN ŞEHİR
Established in a natural valley, the city expanded over time into and out of the valley. Luxembourg is one of the most beautiful and well-maintained cities in the world. The city is divided into two parts, high and low. The section called Ville Haute covers the old city and Ville Bass covers the river bank. There are stairs and elevators that provide transportation between the two cities. The city is also the first city to be named European Capital of Culture twice between 1995 and 2007. There are three official languages in Luxembourg: Luxembourgish, French and German. Although Luxembourgish is a
language used in daily life, it is not used much in written language.
In the city, which has an oceanic climate, it is rainy every season.
The humidity is high and the annual temperature difference is low. You can visit Luxembourg in the summer when rain is less common, but the trees of Luxembourg, which are beautiful in every season, are worth seeing in the autumn. The city has a national motto. “We wish to remain what we are.” When I first heard it, I thought it is something political. Now I find this motto very meaningful. Staying as beautiful as you are or looking like you are.
