As Christians marked Good Friday and Jews celebrated Passover, terror group Hamas, which controls the Gaza Strip, ordered tens ofthousandsofPalestinianstomarch towards the Israel-Gaza border for the explicit purpose of causing chaos and violence against the Jewish people.
Hamas told the West their “protests are peaceful”, yet they told their own followers that they will not stop until they “remove this transient border [between the Gaza Strip and Israel].”
Armed with rocks, improvised explosives and tyres for burning, the “peaceful protests” commenced. Hamas promised payment to anyone who was injured in the conflict and £2,500 to the family of anyone killed. Whilst many of the more than 40,000 people gathered at any one time have been relatively peaceful, a few thousand have not been.
The first Friday (Good Friday) saw, among
other things, two terrorists, armed with assault rifles and positioned against Israel’s security fence, firing across the border at IDF forces. Despite the video and photographic evidence of this incident, the media chose to report these men as “peaceful protesters”. Hamas, on the other hand, praised them as heroes and paraded their bodies through the streets in military funerals.
The next week the rioters set 10,000 tyres alight, creating thick clouds of smoke that billowed into the air. Using this literal smokescreen, numerous terrorists carried out attacks on IDF troops, throwing firebombs and slinging rocks at the Israeli soldiers. The IDF thwarted multiple e orts to breach the border fence as terrorists attempted to cut through. Israel is successfully defending its borders.
Each week has seen a new tactic. The third and fourth weeks saw a continuation of tyre burning whilst terrorists even flew
