12 principles for the new government
CUFI on the Road
With your support, CUFI is bringing the truth about Israel to the UK. As we enter 2020 we remain vigilant to the schemes of Israel’s enemies and urge you to join us in being “Watchmen on the wall” day and night, earnest in prayer and ready to take action.
We also believe that God has blessings in store for Great Britain if we take the right path in standing with Israel and the Jewish people.
Prior to the General Election, CUFI set out 12 principles that we would like to see the UK government fulfil, including the rejection of all boycotts against Israel. Just one week after the election that ended the prospect of an anti-Israel prime minister, Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced plans for a new law to ban anti-Israel boycotts and divestment by public sector bodies. It is now very important to do everything we can to ensure this legislation is passed. CUFI will be at the forefront of making sure MPs vote it into law and we will be asking you to contact your MP when the bill is actioned.
CUFI believes that the UK has a bright future by standing with Israel and there is now an open door of opportunity the like of which we have never seen before in our nation’s history.
CUFI exists for “such a time as this” and we believe that there is much more the UK government can do to strengthen the UK-Israel relationship. We must now move forward with resolve in pursuit of our mission to equip and empower Christians to bless and defend Israel. However we can only make an impact with your support. If you are not already doing so, please consider joining CUFI with a one-off or regular donation to support our work.
A new era has dawned and CUFI is prepared to do whatever it takes to ensure the UK aligns itself with the purposes of God “for Zion’s sake”. Let us move forward into 2020 with renewed vision for the great things that can be accomplished and let us continue to pray for more breakthroughs in this nation’s stand with Israel.
With your help in 2019,
CUFI UK made an impact.
For example:
• We fought for and saw victory with the full
banning of Hezbollah in the UK.
• We launched our Operation Mordecai
campaign, highlighting the threat of the Iranian regime and pressuring the UK government not to strengthen Iran’s arm against Israel and the West.
• Our Christians Against Antisemitism campaign continued to combat the rise of this ancient evil. In particular, we exposed various accounts of anti-Semitism in the Labour Party and issued warnings of a potential Corbyn-led government.
• Prior to the election, we introduced 12 principles that CUFI would like the new UK government to fulfil concerning Israel – one, the rejection of anti-Israel boycotts, was immediately included by Boris Johnson in the Queen’s speech at the opening of Parliament.
• We gathered over 12,000 signatures in support of the National Holocaust Memorial planned for outside Parliament and which has been under threat.
