magazine.
Christian Zionism is under attack.
For many years, the Biblical basis
for standing with Israel has been
undermined. There is nothing new
under the sun, but in the past few
months there has been a surge from
within the Church of loud voices that
have sought to condemn Christian
Zionism. In this issue of Torch, we
have included an article ‘Defending
Christian Zionism’. We believe it will
serve as a refreshing reminder of
what the Bible says about Zion, and
why standing with Israel is part of the
outworking of our faith as Christians.
This article might also be helpful to
you as you seek to answer challenges
to your own stand with Israel.
In part 6 of the ‘Debunking
Replacement Theology’ series, you will
read that the lie that the Church has
replaced Israel cannot be challenged
theologically or academically alone.
There is a spirit behind it. This spirit
is evident in some sections of the
Church and is also recognisable in
other contemporary forms of political
opposition to Israel. This article
exposes what it describes as the ‘spirit
of replacement ideology’ that seeks to
replace what God has ordained, with
anti-Israel revisions; and explains how
it can be dismantled by the authority
of God’s Word.
Our article, ‘Britain’s Betrayal’,
examines the way that the UK has
gone against Israel and against the
Bible by recognising a Palestinian

new ‘Palestine Embassy’ in London
revealed an alarming insight into
the Palestinian mindset behind
recognition, and why it has placed
Britain in uncharted territory.
At CUFI, we are passionate about
sharing the truth about Israel with
the next generation. That is why we
are really pleased to have announced
recently the launch of CUFI Academy
– a programme to equip 16 to 25 year-
olds with the knowledge to advocate
for Israel and the Jewish people
(www.cufi.org.uk/academy). We have
included an article in this issue that
explains the importance of passing
God’s truth to the next generation. It
is a mandate that we should all take
seriously – the need is urgent.
As always, we like to include articles
to encourage and inspire. I know that
the story of Louis Armstrong will
do exactly that – he was a man who
came from a struggling background,
but whose life was impacted by a
loving Jewish family, nurturing him to
become someone who, despite life’s
hardships, came to see a ‘wonderful
world’.
