Making a big step into the future of railway experience in Greece, first, we had to follow an ancient path 2.794 years of age!
From the port of Katakolo to the enchanting site Olympia, the journey is only forty-five minutes long Still, it is a journey in the past, for this train, the TRAINOSE “Olympian Trail”, carries us back in time, to the revered grounds of Olympia, where the first Olympic Games took place in 776 BC. The Games were held in honour of Zeus, the ruler of gods and people alike, and the location named after his godly abode. In the archaeological site you will visit the sanctuary of Zeus, the Heraion - dedi- cated to Hera (Zeus’ wife), the Krypte - the entrance to the Stadium, ancient temples and sports facilities.
