● Third Sunday of the month: Currently we’re often meeting for lunch at Compton Abbas airfield,
sat high in the hills just south of Shaftesbury, or nearby Moto Corsa in Gillingham.
● Nick Clamp is also prone to announcing weekend visits to various places in the mid south or
south midlands at short notice, so watch the Forum!
● We are always on the lookout for new places to meet across the south so suggestions are always
welcome.

Midlands – usually north of the M4 up to Birmingham
● Last Wednesday of the month: Venue varies but there is a tendency to meet up at airfields.
Crickley Hill in the Cotswolds is also popular when it’s warm and sunny. The Touchdown Café at
Wellesbourne Airfield seems to be the popular default option. Again watch the Forum for the
latest.

(If there isn’t a regular or even an irregular meeting near you why not start one? Pick a place and time
you plan to be somewhere and post it on the Forum, someone else will usually turn up. Ba)

18th-26th September 2022: The Picos and Northern Spain (Richard Mills)
Richard and Sharon have
organised a week riding in the
fabulous Picos in Northern
Spain, if anyone has any energy
left after the packed summer
programme! They’ll be coming
and going on the Plymouth to
Santander route (Portsmouth
ferries are also available) and
have booked the La Palma hotel
in Llanes for the nights of
19th–25th. Others are choosing
different routes but the same
hotel. See:
