WEDNESDAY RIDE - 16 February 2022
Short & Sweet
By Ride Leader Karen M (Short & Sweet)
When we arrived at Maccas, Tapping, I was
pleasantly surprised at the number of people already
gathered, though standing in the sun! This was soon
resolved with a few short steps into the shade.
HMV (aka Timorous Spouse) duly called the other
14 parishioners to order for the usual discussion
about the destination.
With the maximum of 38 degrees forecast to be
reached by noon, it was decided that a short ride to
an air-conditioned venue was appropriate. As there
were no other offerings, my ride to Verge 301 Café,
Woodridge, was it. It was the shortest discussion
about a destination that I can remember!
Three of the riders decided a ride to the Ducati
dealership in Bayswater was their preferred
destination. (We are yet to hear if any purchases
were made!)
Without further ado I led the remaining 11 riders along Old Yanchep Road, Indian Ocean Drive (see the Short
Snippet below), Military Road, deviated onto Chitna Road before joining Gingin Brook Road to re-join Indian
Ocean Drive for the short distance to King Drive.
Unfortunately, our arrival coincided with a
delivery for the Café, who were short staffed
with only one person working. Just as there
were murmurings about moving on, the
delivery was finalised and we were served.
What the banter lacked in length (short, as
everyone was keen to get home) it made up for
in liveliness.
We had 2 “new” people join us today – Brian on
a Triumph Trophy (see photo) and Chris on a
BMW Boxer. Welcome!
Thanks to Bhupendra Chauhan for being TEC.
A SHORT SNIPPET FROM TIMOROUS
SPOUSE
Whilst passing through the lengthy roadworks on Indian Ocean Drive, Nigel struck a blow against “The Craft”.
Despite the noble intent, it is believed that Malleus Maleficarum would have contemplated a more severe
penalty than the mere knocking over of a witch’s hat.
