It’s stating the bloody obvious to say that Winter has hit big time and consequently our riding and rides
become more challenging in terms of slippery roads and cold and wet weather conditions. There are
occasions when I actually enjoy riding in less-than-ideal conditions … it’s not a macho sort of thing, it’s just
that I find it a great test of my riding gear and how well prepared I am. One of
                                                                                                                 th
those rides in winter conditions was a ride that Mal led recently on Sunday 5
June that finished up at the Little River Hotel. Although it was quite cold and a
little drizzly, all who rode agreed that it had been an enjoyable morning’s ride.
Next Sunday I’m leading a ride to the Otways and although the forecast is
looking okay, you have to be prepared for temperatures much lower than
forecast for Geelong. If the weather is bad on the day, I will change the ride
route to something much shorter. Remember all of our ride info, reports and
great photos are available at https://geelongulysses.forumotion.com
